Our morning itinerary involves a visit to Bayer
CropScience’s World Headquarters in
Monheim, Germany (www.bayercropscience.com).
You will be briefed on some of Bayer´s activities on crop
protection and crop production.
METRO
A tour of METRO Group's Future Store (www.future-store.org) located
at Rheinberg, North-Rhine Westphalia to give a fascinating look
into how technology will be used to assist in the retail and
marketing of food in the future.

Tuesday, November 16, 2004 – International
Symposium on Nutrition, Health and Well Being - The Netherlands
Attend a one-day International Symposium on Nutrition,

Nestlé - Friday, November 19, 2004 – Switzerland
Nestlé is the world’s largest food processing company
and is in the process of changing their business strategy to
more actively pursue nutrition, health and well being.
The rise in private label competition is forcing
many global brands like Nestlé to re-think their business strategy. According
to Nestlé’s CEO Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, "Our
nutrition division is a major, major growth driver for the future.
It transforms commodities vulnerable to private label competition
into high priced premium products."
Nestlé invests 2% of its annual profits in R & D to
develop new foods, which is one of the highest
levels of R&D
investments by a food company. You will hear
first hand how Nestlé plans to make this transition.
