Dr. David Hughes

Dr. David Hughes is Emeritus Professor of Food Marketing at the Centre for Food Chain Research, Imperial College London, and Visiting Professor at the Royal Agricultural College, U.K. David is a much sought-after speaker at international conferences and seminars on global food industry issues, particularly consumer trends, and is a strong proponent of building vertical alliances between key chain members in the food industry - farmers, life science and input companies, ingredient and food manufacturers, retailers and food service. He has lived and worked in Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Africa and South East Asia. David is: an international advisory board member with food companies and organisations in three continents; and a Non-Executive Director of KG Fruits - a U.K. farmer-owned berry fruit business (US$200 million turnover in 2004). He works closely with senior management of food firms on business strategy development and with governments on food policy formulation.


Patrick Davis - Food Consultant

Mr. Patrick Davis, is the former Chief Executive of Food from Britain. Food from Britain is a strategic export-marketing consultancy, which provides British companies with a comprehensive range of business and market development into most regions of the world.

Mr. Davis is an expert on new product development, packaging, and to matching the product to consumer trends. He is the former managing director of Premier Teas. As managing director of Premier Teas, a 110 [pounds] million division within Hillsdown Holdings, he was responsible for such British brands as Typhoo, Ridgways, Melroses, Glengettie and London Herb and Spice. He has held senior sales and marketing positions with the then Cadbury Typhoo and Premier Brands in the UK, Ireland and South Africa.
